The Democracy Transformation Project

We’re not fighting to bring back what we had. We’re not fighting to keep what we have. We’re fighting for something completely different. The Democracy Transformation Project is charging forward a future filled with the freedoms we are owed—an intersectional democracy where all of us can thrive.
The Democracy Transformation Project is building a long-lasting sisterhood of hundreds of homegrown leaders creating a democracy that represents all of us. Through our biannual conference, in-person and virtual think tanks, and community platforms we generate the connective tissue between leaders who may otherwise be working in isolation in their communities. We host cohorts of multigenerational, multiracial leaders to dream together, learn together, and deliberate together to chart the course for a transformational democracy that represents all of us.

We all know stories of communities that fight hard to win new voting rights, but too often the story stops there: policies are implemented without input and in ways that leave community members more confused and disengaged. The Just Implementation Project steps in to ensure the success story continues into implementation, and beyond.
By partnering with government entities, communities and local leaders, we are able to ensure that the implementation of voting rights is inclusive, practical and grounded in local power. In addition we offer education and outreach programs for voters and candidates, implementation consultations for government and elected officials, and long-lasting support and analysis of impact – ensuring that every voter benefits from their newly expanded rights.
